An eighteen minute al-Khayr production designed to lure in heroes for martyrdom through scripted dialogue, play-training in urban ruins, leaping from roof tops and an unsettling focus on young boys. The execution beheading and shooting of the alleged Kurdish PKK spies in an abandoned amusement park in Deir ez-Zor, come after long winding often convoluted dialogues from the teen with the typical “lights are on, but no one is at home” stare. This can be seen in the November 2016 video “Repent and You Will Have Safety From Us” (tangentcode). One interesting note which pushes a once well worn notion,”if you can stand up, you can fight” is the appearance of the one armed fighter, although briefly.
The video takes a direction which Daesh relish whenever the opportunity arises of using the youngest child executioners as possible. One of the children looks more like it is afflicted with a genetic or kidney disorder and struggles to pull the trigger on what must be the smallest pistol available. The beheading is just as remorseless as the production team take a horror movie long shot of blood dripping through the playground equipment.
